Move Your Blog

I know, there are lots of mind-bending-feel-like-your-brain-is-about-to-explode-trying-to-figure-this-stuff-out posts in Google’s search results about how to move you blog.

I also know there are several scary stories out there from bloggers who tried to do it themselves just to have lost something crucial - subscribers, pictures, comments, months of posts - in the end.

Moving your blog - properly - is not easy and is time consuming.

It requires planning, the equipment to back up files and experience with working with databases, different hosts, php, and an understanding of php coding.

Add a domain name change into the mix and boy it can become a headache.

For those who’s top priority is blogging, I’d like to offer you my services.

As a WordPress Blog Designing Search Engine Marketer, I’ve moved blogs from

  • Blogger to WordPress
  • WordPress.com to WordPress

“I contacted Vanita when I was looking for someone to help me transfer my old blog to a new domain name. From the first email correspondence, she was friendly, responsive, and helpful. Her rates are reasonable and her service is exemplary. She was available throughout the entire process, constantly explaining what was happening in easy-to-understand terms. She handled all of the unexpected glitches that popped up with ease. I was blown away by her level of service, knowledge, and personal communication. I will definitely look to Vanita as additional website needs arise. She is THE BEST!”

“if you want to do it yourself, you can. There is enough information and you just need brass balls. Which I don’t possess. So I called in a tech whiz – Vanita Cyril. People, she is FABULOUS. A work-at-home mom of FOUR, Vanita is friendly, professional and so very patient with my many questions. Vanita moved my posts, pictures and comments, fixed all the broken links and did the site redirect (i.e. if you type in my old URL, you’ll land on this site) within days. I cannot say enough how awesome she is and highly recommend her services to anyone who needs help with moving domains, or just any WordPress stuff.” – Alison Lee of Writing,Wishing (formerly Mama Wants This) excerpt from her awesome post on changing domain names
