A Bit Of The Unusual, Courtesy Of Old School Blogging

So I know I’m usually “do this for blog traffic” and “don’t do that on g+” here on the blog, but how about we forget about work for a day and be all play, huh? Who’s in? Found a fun post from Alison in my inbox this morning and realized, hell I want to do that too! So here we are.

Now this is an old goodie (hosted by Elaine and co-hosted by Brittany) that’s said to have been all the rage back when I was too pregnant and scared about being a mom again to even care about blogging. I can see why it’s a goodie, it was fun to read Alison’s and I’m so glad she tagged everyone.

So let’s get on with it, yes?

A bit about me.

Where is your cell phone? In hubby’s pocket. Well it’s no longer mine. There’s some unwritten rule around here that when I break his stuff, he gets mine. So, I accidentally threw his cell in with the laundry and now my cell is his.

Your significant other? Is the most awesome man on the world and pretty darn hot.

Your hair? Speckled with gray. :-| I decided to dye it to cover it up. And then I figured if I’m going to dye my hair I might as well change the color. My hair is black. To change the color, I had to buy hair dye that would lighten my hair. Guess where the gray went. No where.

Your mother? Close enough that we can visit daily but far enough to keep me sane.

Your father? Taught me how to dance.

Your favorite thing? Hanging with hubby and the kids.

Your dream last night? Something about power rangers juicing broccoli? Hubby conned me into pizza as a midnight snack last night. That should explain all.

Your favorite drink? Mango juice.

Your dream/goal? To work from the balcony of my home in the tropics.

The room you are in? The family room. The home office is closed for repairs. It’s freezing in there.

Your fear? A Tsunami hitting NYC. It’s why I won’t move out of the Bronx. It’s the only borough connected to the actual country so less likely to sink or get washed away. The other boroughs are surrounded by water. Little islands.

Where do you want to be in six years? As happy as I am now.

Where were you last night? Here at the desk, catching up on emails after being MIA for days from a stomach virus.

What are you not? Pessimistic.

Muffins? Oh hell yes, though I made the decision yesterday to stay away from anything grain related for 6 weeks.

One of your wish list items? Huh is it weird I don’t have one?

Where you grew up? Brooklyn, NY

The last thing you did? Talked with my oldest on the phone. A bunch of I miss you(s) and why the heck didn’t you call me earlier(s).

What are you wearing? My jammies.

Your TV? Permanently tunes to Spongebob it seems.

Your pets? Parakeets.

Your computer? A Mac.

Your life? Pretty darn happy.

Your mood? Optimistic. Is that even a mood? I’ve got this everything-is-possible vibe going.

Missing someone? Oldest teen. She’s away visiting a college. High school senior readying for college and all that. Readying to leave the nest. Hmmph.

Your Car? Hot wheels. Seriously, there’s over 100 hundred in this apartment and they’re always underfoot, so they must be mine.

Something you are not wearing? Make-up. There’s a reason why I don’t have a web cam.

Favorite store? The Apple Store. They know how to treat a customer.

Your summer? Mostly work but did get out to the beach and park.

Like someone? err did I not mention having a hot hubby?

Your favorite color? OMGawd I truly don’t have one. How sad is that? I do spend a lot of time on design-seeds.com. There’s just so much to choose from.

When was the last time you laughed? This morning when my 5 year old son told me he’s getting on in years.

Last time you cried? Gosh, this weekend that passed? So many damn tragedies in the world.

What is one thing on your To-Do list? Pimping my recent guest post/co-hosted shopping spree giveaway. Oh look, done.

Now I’m tagging you all, if you want to join in, feel free to copy the Qs from me and be sure to link up at either Elaine or Brittany‘s blog. And tweet them at @elainea and@brittanyvandy with #OSBLog (yes i totally ripped off this line from Alison, who by the way has a yummy snickerdoodle mini cake recipe you must try.)

Now tell me, if you could only eat once this week, what would you eat?

You are so freakin’ awesome! My eyes are running (so you thought only noses could run eh? Not far.)

Hugs. I knew there was a reason we’re connected. Now I see there are many!

Love you!

I knew someone would be in their jammies. I am now changing my where I want to be to yours. Working in the tropics. I love how optimistic you are. I am still working my way through your report and still finding things I want to do and I am feeling, um, a burden. I cannot wait until it is lifted and my normal energy is back!

take it a little at a time mama and sooner then you realize, it will be done. i actually have two testimonials to publish from clients who saw 40% and 50% increase in traffic. it will happen for you and look how great your alexa is already. i’m always in my jammies. only time i put on actual clothes is when i’m not sitting at this desk.

You are hysterical V. Funny my dad taught me how to dance too. Your life sounds like a happy, optimistic hoot. Love that about you.

Oh hon, I am on the last day of a 5-day eating plan, so to answer your question about what I’d eat if there’s only one thing? The snickerdoodle cake, that’s what!!!

Love reading this, knowing more about you. And I did not know you were sick, glad you’re better!

Your 5 year old actually said that?! Hilarious!!! :D

So glad you played along, isn’t this fun?

Vanita Cyril November 15, 2013, 7:14 pm

Girl my 5 year old picks up way too much from his teenage sisters. At report card night one of his teachers remarked that he cracks her up daily with the things he says and the way he says it. He is one funny little boy. Yes it was fun and I’m so glad I joined! Thanks for hosting. It was just what the doc ordered.

I can sympathize with the empty nest syndrome. Both my boys have flown the coop. One is your neighbor in Brooklyn, the other lives about 30 minutes away.

Oh man. I want the balcony next to yours in the tropics. Or maybe we could just have a huge porch that has a nice walk-down to the beach…

for you, i’ll trade my balcony for a porch, but only if someone’s serving lunch and drinks.
